more chez moi

This weekend we squeezed in a little teeny bit of time for home decor shopping.  A quick jaunt to Rooms and Gardens in Santa Monica.  I love this store!
There's one in Santa Barbara that I've never been to.  This one is on Montana, and if it had a decent kitchen, I might try to become a squatter/full-time occupant!
I love this ottoman for our family room, but based on the grunge you see on our white slipcovers after one week, I can only imagine how long this ottoman would look pretty with our feet propped up and Champ snoozing on it day in and out.
After dropping Namma off at the airport, Katie Ray and I popped into HomeGoods (you can find it, too, just google "TJMaxx near LAX").  This basket would be great for our new fiddleleaf fig.
However, at $60, it's hardly a super bargain.  You can get a set of three (one this size, one smaller, one larger) from Ballard for $120.

Here's an interesting HomeGoods find:

We passed on the above.  but never wanting to be empty-handed, we came home with a bright pink basket for KR's dress-up clothes, a set of clover-embroidered hand towels (yes, I'm nuts!), a pair of pumas for myself and a unicorn purse that KR really wanted.
 And then we came home!

the bench...if by "interesting" you mean tacky and semi-hideous, then yes it is very interesting!!!! glad you did not bring it home. it would only have worked with mucho DIY, meaning a paint job and reupholstering! altho, add some nailheads and THEN you're talking my language. also, clover towels=the new thing. i'm just going to put that out there and hope it comes true!

Dear Reader, YES, I was there in search of a DIY bench improvement...I have already reupholstered one bench and my staple gun is itching for a new project. And YES I do have the nailheads ready to go. Locked and loaded!

I have a suspicious feeling that I am slumped in the corner of one of your photos. I think all the shopping just wore me out. Your mum
